How do I securely upload a student roster?

Written by Peekapak Support

If you've been asked to send Peekapak your school or district's student roster, you'll do it through a private upload link instead of email. Here's what to expect and how to complete it.

Before you begin

  • You'll need the personal upload link sent to you by your Peekapak contact. This link is unique to you and your school. Make sure you aren't forwarding it to anyone else.

  • Have your roster file ready, or feel free to use the template provided on the upload page to help you if you're starting from scratch.

  • Links are valid for 30 days. If yours has expired, you can request a new one from your Peekapak contact.

Steps

  1. Open the link you received by email.

  2. Check that the page shows your correct school or district name and your email address (partly hidden, for your security). This confirms you're on the right page.

  3. Tick the box confirming you're the intended recipient. This unlocks the upload area.

  4. If you need a starting template, download the one provided on the page. It lists the columns we ideally want, including student name, student email, and parent email — student email in particular is what allows students to sign in through Clever, Google, or Classlink.

  5. Select your roster file, either by clicking to browse or dragging it into the upload area.

  6. Click Submit roster securely and wait for the progress indicator to finish.

  7. Look for the on-screen success message confirming your file was received.

What happens next

Once you see the success confirmation, your roster has been received and there's nothing else you need to do. If you realize afterward that the file was incomplete or had an error, you can simply open the same link again (as long as it hasn't expired) and upload a corrected version. Your original file stays on record, so there's no risk of losing it!

Your data stays in your own region. If you're a UAE-based client, you'll see a "Data stored in UAE" badge on the page. This means your file is stored there and not anywhere else.

A few things to know

  • You won't get an email receipt after uploading, just an on-screen confirmation, so it's worth waiting to see that message before closing the page.

  • The page doesn't show you a history of past uploads, so keep track on your end if you're sending more than one file.

  • The site is currently only available in English at the moment.

Need help?

If your link isn't working, shows the wrong school or district, or you run into an error while uploading, contact your Peekapak representative and they'll issue you a new link right away.
